Chris and his crew arrived exactly on time and went right to work cleaning our gutters. They did a thorough job clearing out the debris, flushing the downspouts and cleaning up after themselves. After they were done, he showed me photos of his work. Our gutters and downspouts easily handled the next rain. Chris is very polite, professional and his fee is competitive with other companies. Now with Chris being my go-to-guy, I can stay off those ladders.

Chris really impressed me with his professionalism and his businesslike approach to gutter cleaning. He arrived with a mask on which I appreciated, and took his time to thoroughly clean our gutters. Then he cleaned up thoroughly after himself before leaving. Our job was very difficult because we have miles and miles of gutters it seems, and they were full of olives and olive leaves. Not an easy job. I would definately recommend him. His specialty is over 55 senior communities, but he was willing to do our home and did a great job.

We will provide you with a few options for gutter cleaning with varying levels of detail to fit different budgets. With our equipment and professional training, we’ll take the worry out of cleaning your gutters.

Cleaning your gutters is not your favorite chore, that is why you are here. Meanwhile, especially during Fall, your gutters are filling up with dirt, leaves, moss, and small branches. And it only takes a handful of debris to clog your gutters because of the small holes your downspouts have to drain water from your gutters. Clogged gutters can become a messy chore. After your gutters fill up, you can notice them overflowing with debris and water. That is never a good sign because it means the water is not draining correctly. Getting your gutters cleaned regularly can stop minor issues with your gutters before they become major problems. The weight of accumulated water in your clogged gutters can cause serious structural issues that you’ll have to pay for later. Protect yourself from property damage later by getting your gutters cleaned now.

Clean, flowing gutters are important for the safety, maintenance, and aesthetics of residential & commercial properties. Keeping your gutters clean is one of your home’s most important ongoing maintenance requirements. Flowing gutters drain water off your roof and into your perimeter drainage system, keeping the water from causing damage to your home. Full or overflowing gutters can cause expensive problems such as water damage, gutter rusting, foundation cracking, or gutter collapse.

Gutters can be overlooked until they become the source of a problem. Oftentimes, that happens during the rainy season. Call Student Services before the rainy season begins and let us clean the gutters thoroughly so you can avoid issues later. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Your gutter cleaning technician is trained in safety and completing gutter cleaning appointments. We have the equipment and the experience to deal with your gutters before they become another problem for you to solve. Student Services provides professional gutter cleaning for your home and business. Your gutter cleaning technician will improve the quality of your gutter system by using professional grade equipment and techniques to remove debris, plant growth, and even nests. Do not risk your safety and avoid climbing up and down a ladder by having a licensed & insured professional clean your gutters for you. We will even take pictures for you to show you the condition of your gutters, so that you don’t have to climb the ladder. Leave the ladders to us!

Why is cleaning your gutters important?

Avoid water damage Clogged gutter downspouts result in leaks and overflowing gutters. If water is not flowing out of your gutters properly, they are putting your structure at increased risk of mold, dry rot, and other forms of water damage.

Avoid foundation issues Improperly draining gutters may dump water in areas not designed to soak up water. This can change how the foundation settles, contributing to foundation issues such as cracks.

Eliminate unwanted pests Pest love clogged gutters. A protected space packed with sticks and debris is the perfect home for your new neighbors, nesting rodents. Like rodents, insects such as wasps or mosquitos love the stagnant pools of water that your clogged gutters provide them with.

Year-round protection If the downspout of your gutter is clogged, your entire gutter system is blocked from functioning properly. That means the system to dispose of water from your gutters is not going to work to get rid of water down the drain, posing a threat to damage your home.

Roofing materials vs. gutters Roofs with shingles or composite release dirt and granules over time that blocks proper water drainage.

Gutter safety Gutters require cleaning in hard-to-access areas. Professional training and equipment are required to make sure the task is done safely and to a quality standard.

By default, if the roof is safely walkable, we work from the roof to limit ladder exposure since most home service workplace injuries are from ladders. If the roof is not safely walkable, we work from a ladder. Doing gutter cleaning since 2015, we know from experience that this is the safest way to get your gutters cleaned.

For your gutter cleaning appointment, we scoop the debris out of your gutters into a bucket and dispose the debris into your yard waste can.

Most homes should clean do gutter cleaning once per year after the leaves fall around October-February. If your home is exposed to multiple trees, especially larger ones, you may benefit from more frequent gutter cleanings (semi-annual, tri-annual, or quarterly). All homes should have their gutters cleaned. Neglecting to clean your gutters exposes your home to damage from foundation issues to dry rot to the complete collapse of your gutters. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially in the case of your protecting the functionality of your gutter system.

Most gutter cleaning appointments will be completed in 1-4 hours.

After every gutter cleaning appointment, we review pictures of what the gutters look like with the customer. We will notify you if we encountered anything of concern (ie- a clogged downspout, tree roots growing into the underground drainage, broken roof tiles, damage such as dry rot, etc) or if your gutters are functioning as they should be. After we finish your gutter cleaning, you’ll find any debris we removed from your gutters in your yard waste can so you can see exactly what we removed from your gutters.

Older gutters, or gutters that are clogged, have gutter joints/seems that can leak, resulting in an area where drips accumulate and moss can grow.

Moss grow on the north side of roofs because it gets the adequate amunt of shade, moisture, and sunlight. Moss can be removed but it is a matter of time until it grows back. Every roof has moss because every house has a roof on the north side of the home.

Yes, we can remove debris (moss, leaves, small tree limbs, pine needles, etc) from your roof. The debris will be disposed of via your yard waste can.

We use loppers to trim smaller limbs when they are overhanging the roof. If your tree has larger limbs, it is best to use a professional arborist who can safely remove the limbs while keeping the health of the tree in tact.

If your underground drainage is blocked, it is going to require a rooter company or plumber.  However, more frequently, either the top of your gutter downspout or the gutter downspout itself is clogged. Make sure to try to fix these potential issues before assuming your underground drainage is clogged.

If your underground drainage is blocked, it is going to require a rrooter company or plumber. Tree roots can grow into the underground drainage as the roots will grow towards any source of water, which is exactly what the underground drainage is. Alternatively, large amounts of gutter debris can clog underground drainage from draining properly.

Gutter downspouts can be clogged by different types of debris. Moss, roof runoff (“roof sand”), leaves, or a mixture of all of the above clog people’s gutters. When gutters clog, water accumulates in the gutter, filling the gutters to the top with water. Once the water fills the gutter, it starts to overflow over the gutters.

Yes, we have all of the equipment to clean your gutters thoroughly and safely.

We use safety equipment including a helmet, fall protection equipment including a harness & lanyard, a ladder with a ladder stabilizer, a bucket to scoop and remove debris from your gutters, and a hose to test your gutter downspouts.

The cost of gutter cleaning is based on several factors including the number of stories the building is that we are servicing, the number of helpers that are needed to do the task, the home model we are servicing (for residents in 55+ active living retirement communities), the linear feet of gutters that are being cleaned, if the building has gutter guards or not, the number of downspout filters that are being installed, and the distance we have to drive to do the task.
